Powerwashing DUO

I took this image from the base of the utopian DUO Complex in Singapore, during a day of taking in the many architectural statements condensed into its very vertical Downtown Core.

The development was nearing the final stages of completion at the time I graced the forecourt with my presence, and consists of two tall, hexagonal facaded towers of interplaying curves and angles, bridged by a single storey shopping plaza – basically the kind of idyllic fusion of glass, steel, concrete and vegetation that wouldn’t look out of place in some manner of futuristic Star Trek-esque metropolis. One tower secretes swanky, upscale apartments, and the other (pictured), a grand hotel, and vast swathes of office space.

This SWAT team of dangling cleaners are presumably hosing it down, ready for it’s grand opening, but as someone who’s not particularly fond of heights, I re-oriented the image to make it more palatable, and I suppose to also exercise supreme artistic freedom – Who says things have to be the way we see them?
