Desert Negative
Whilst digitising reams upon reams of old family photos, I came across this curious malfunction amongst the hundreds of childhood faces and half-remembered events in the back-catalogue of my life.
I’d guess it was caused by a combination of light leaks and scratched film stock, but I really liked the resulting abstraction – One lone scraggy tree/cactus still standing, in a scorching analog desert; or possibly a rooted stick-man shrugging as if to say:
“See, it’s not so bad, is it?”
