Singapore’s Downtown Core is home to a number of interesting architectural sites – the iconic Marina Bay Sands hotel being almost certainly the most well known, but I’m rather partial to this, the lesser known, 37 storey ‘Gateway’ complex. It actually consists of 2 identical towers, and their trapezoid shapes taper to such a thin point, that looking side on, they appear 2-dimensional. A simple ‘Dutch tilt’ of the camera later and you get this kind of abstract image.
Coincidentally, as these buildings were finished in April 1990, they’re the same age as me. I feel as if that’s significant somehow.
